Spring Mountain
ESTATE VINEYARDS
Sonoma County, California
An original homestead ranch, Fisher Vineyards' Spring Mountain Estate was purchased by Fred and Juelle Fisher in 1973 (virtually barren at the time). Today, the pioneering work to develop these mountain vineyards is awe inspiring to nearly every visitor. Driven by the dream to produce completely distinctive, world-class wines, Fred and Juelle undertook an ambitious 30 year development that has yielded several wines of great distinction.
The Spring Mountain Estate encompasses approximately 100 acres, only 30 of which are planted, and is located on the western face of Spring Mountain high above the Sonoma Valley. Built in 1978 and constructed from timber milled on the property, the barn-style winery is nestled on a quaint, the work of late architect and close family friend William Turnbull (please see Winery and Cellar). Barrel aging caves were added deep beneath the winery in 1998, dug into the hillside below the winery and connected by a steep underground stairway.
