2003
SONOMA COUNTY
Hidden Terrace Vineyard, Syrah
The Hidden Terrace Vineyard is a well kept secret sequestered on a steep south-facing slope at the edge of our Mountain Estate, high above the Sonoma Valley floor. Farmed entirely by hand due to the severe incline, this small vineyard is composed of rare tufa (volcanic chalk) soil that produces syrah of intense concentration and varietal distinction. Extremely low yields produced only 200 magnums of 2003 Hidden Terrace Vineyard Syrah, limiting availability of this inaugural release to private collectors directly from the winery.
Tasting Notes
The 2003 Hidden Terrace Vineyard offers aromas of ripe plum followed by chocolate with hints of cedar and subtle spice. The palate is well balanced with bright acidity and ripe tannins, which coat the core and carry through to the finish.
