SONOMA COUNTY
Hidden Terrace Vineyard, Syrah
The Hidden Terrace Vineyard is a well kept secret sequestered on a steep south-facing slope at the edge of our Mountain Estate, high above the Sonoma Valley floor. Farmed entirely by hand due to the severe incline, this small vineyard is composed of rare tufa (volcanic chalk) soil that produces syrah of intense concentration and varietal distinction. Extremely low yields produced 120 cases of 2005 Hidden Terrace Vineyard Syrah, limiting availability of this release to private collectors directly from the winery.
Tasting Notes
A Rhone lovers delight with all of the essentials, including cracked pepper, sausage, bacon, and even the sweet flavors of plum sauce garnished with black cherry. The palate is smooth on the entry with firm tannins and a focused finish. This Syrah will call everyone to the holiday table with alluring exotic scents of pepper corns, smoked meats and cherry liqueur.
