SONOMA COUNTY
Hidden Terrace Vineyard, Syrah
The Hidden Terrace Vineyard is a well-kept secret sequestered on a steep south-facing slope at the edge of our Mountain Estate, high above the Sonoma Valley floor. Farmed entirely by hand due to the severe incline, this small vineyard is composed of rare tuff (volcanic ash) soil that produces Syrah of unique varietal distinction.
Tasting Notes
Captivating aromatics of cracked white pepper, roasted coffee bean, ripe orange peel and floral notes. On the pallet, the notably feminine structure and weight of this vintage is reminiscent of the landmark 2007. Bright, high-toned flavors of pomegranate and rhubarb are complicated by a subtle, classic component of cured-meat. Delicate flavors and graceful acidity mark this aromatic, Rhone inspired Syrah, confirming that it is a highly versatile option for pairing with a wide variety of foods.
