Many years ago, over a memorable dinner at Single Thread in Healdsburg, we were smitten by one particular producer of Chenin Blanc from the Loire. A totally transcendent experience, this wine led us on a journey of discovery. In 2022 we planted drought tolerant old rootstock (St. George and 110-R) and the start of our quest for budwood began. A good friend and fellow vigneron soon connected offering the opportunity of a lifetime: six different selections of Chenin Blanc taken directly from top domains in the Loire. These have been planted amongst orchard trees on our Calistoga Estate, as well as a steep west-facing hillside on our Mountain Estate. 2025 is the inaugural vintage of Chenin Blanc for Fisher Vineyards, bringing together the fruits of our journey and lifting our spirits with the resulting wine.
